What began as a weekend jam session between friends that lasted for months blossomed into a full fledged band with Japanese Jazz & Rock as its influence. Glued together by their love for Japanese music thus Honeybeat was born with its basic personnel Gema at Bass and
Ocank at Keyboard.

The shift began when their vocalist resign from the band and then replace by Nita.

As time passes the also managed to find another vocalist by the name of Tiiqa. Although with their guitar player being replace from time to time, the band managed to make good progress. Honeybeat were then often seen performing at many Bunkasai event across Jakarta and Bandung and were also recognized as the band with two girl vocalist that perform cover songs from Tokyo Jihen and Shina Ringo.

The fledging band hit a potential roadblock when their original drummer left, but the position head been vacant for only a few days, which was then replaced by Andos as their drummer.

At the beginning of 2009, the band started to shift their focus from covering songs to having their own material recorded properly. By the mid of 2010 the band managed to release their premier album entitled The Wake up Call and catch many attention among their fan based.

Determine to pass something different to the Indonesian music scene over-saturated with formulaic rock acts and cookie-cutter love songs. Honeybeat is out to prove that good music does not need to be dumbed down for the sake of commercialism.
